The Forbidden Lands
These lands are sacred...
Void of life for centuries the gates to these lands have suddenly been opened. Once ruled by man, the lands are littered with ruins of cities, monasteries, and arenas. The tribes and groups that lived here thrived-- fueled by their relations with the entities that were tied to the lands themselves. But the humans could not please Dormin while worshiping his children. So his sixteen children were sealed into the land and the humans that worshiped them were cast from the lands and the gate sealed shut.
With the humans gone, the animals of the land were the only ones left to worship Dormin-- and so he granted them with a greater intelligence. The animals that lived in the lands were devout in their worship of the all powerful being-- until his power slipped, overturned by his children and the gates to the lands were open once again.
With the lack of power Dormin held shown to his children, they went all out, releasing themselves from the places they were sealed and wrecking havoc upon the lands. Destroying the lands with their own power unleashed; sandstorms, earthquakes, and erupting volcanoes decimated the landscape.
The animals that lived in the lands began to rally, wanting to save not only themselves but the land itself. One by one, they resealed the sixteen gods into the land, and eventually used the combined power of the sixteen to seal Dormin as well. With the death of Dormin, the land itself began to fall apart-- and the animals inside fled to the outside world with the gates slammed shut behind them.
Now centuries later, an unknown energy has willed the gates to open, and the brave few that enter will face powers that even Dormin himself could not handle.
